Hi guys. I have an 06 H2 that I just leased 2 weeks ago. The problem that I'm having has happened about 5 times so far. It seems to occur more often in the morning. Just as I let go of the key, as the engine starts, there is a bang sound from the front and the truck seems to lurch forward alittle. Any ideas? Thanks.

first idea take it to the dealer ! !

with it lurching forward, it can't be safe, and that's not normal. at least call the dealer. it may be something the dealer has heard of or seen before.

is the bang like an explosion of fuel, or metal on metal? it would be nice to know what the deal is, but you really need to take it back and get it fixed before it gets worse.

Yeah, I called the dealer yesterday and they said that they had never heard of that before. I plan on taking it there asap, but they told me that if it doesn't do it all of the time it would be hard to determine what is wrong. As far as the sound, it's not an explosion type of bang, it's more like if someone were to have hit the engine with a hammer. I was kinda thinking in my very non-mechanical way, that the starter may get stuck while dis-engaging? Maybe.

the starter wouldn't make the truck lurch though. it could be a broken motor mount, and if the engine moves that could be the "lurch" you feel. a good mechanical inspection by the dealer should find anything broken.
