The front differential housing is the problem in question.

Haim, the soon to be if its gonna be ARB front locker would install in the Differental (a carrier/gear case) and the Differential is the problem discussed here.  I know that people have broke ring gear teeth up front, and GM originally thought fractured teeth was a cause of the problem.  I have learned that some of the broken front diffs still had intact gears, so GM now knows that the gears are not the cause of the Diff problem.  Two different problems up front.  They did have a batch of incorrect hardened ring gears, but they say that is now corrected.  We are still left with Front aluminum differential that is arguably weaker than it should be.

Some of you may have already heard.....but as of the 2009 model year, ALL HUMMER H3 models will be produced with a Cast Iron Front Housing.

Thanks for listening Mr. Brand Quality Manager

This may be a dumb question...but doesn't the Alpha have the good front differential in it??? Is it just all the I5 models that have the bad one?
