I am trying to get the xm to work through the stock radio. The local GMC dealer does not seem to think it can be done easily. Do you have to install an additional antenna to get it to work? What is the simplest thing to do?

You can find it here for $150.

If you care, for an extra $50 you can get one with an i-pod interface.

It's pretty cool because it shows all of the data on the factory radio display and is completely controlled by the factory knobs & buttons. It sounds awesome. You can expect the same sound quality as you get from CD's on the factory system. And it's invisible!

I got mine off of Ebay for $200ish with the Ipod adapter... and it was 100% plug and play.

I ran the antenna through the maker light plug and dropped the headliner to run the XM antenna with the FM antenna (only on a 2003)

It wasn't a quick job.... but it was very easy.

Or if you have a radio that you already own just mount it like I did with mine.  I did this because I use the hell out of it in my Boat and Office.  I already have 2 radios that I am billed for every month I dont need to add another.

that is what makes it even more worth it.... in a 20 minute drive you could honestly only hear commercials... with xm that is all music....

I love it.... I have had it going on 5 years now and I would never switch back....
