Well... thanks....

but on a serious note.... you really don't have to quit cold turkey.  You can still spend time around it...  You can still teach the ground schools.... you can go get your pilots license and take students up.... you have options...  it is not the end of your favorite pasttime.... don't give up.....

hell.... you could always try out for American Idol....

If it was only that simple lol .. I'm done with it all together .. My ratings have expired and I have to jump to get them back.  I have to maintain currency in order to be able to work with students ... which I can't since umm .. well, that whole jumping bit .. lol .. and yeah, unfortunately it is the end to it .. I enjoyed jumping for myself, not risk my life for $15 bucks/student .. that's not a skydive, that's a fall lol.  The little student work I did was to help pay for my own jumps and help pay for the gear and so on .. yeah .. lol .. wish I could say there was a greater cause behind it but I can't lol!
As far as flying those jump ships .. no fricken way lol .. you couldn't pay me enough to get in one of those coffins without a parachute on my back LOL!
Classic example .. a few years back there was an issue with one of the Twin Otter's .. the indicator for the nosewheel was a bit .. "off" lol ... stated nose wheel was centered when in fact it was approx 70 degrees OFF CENTER .. pilot came in for landing and proceeded to literally cartwheel the Otter .. plane was totalled but he survived .. 1.2 million dollar whoooooooopsie ... Supposedly this had been fixed during the routine maintenance that took place about a month before.  I've seen turbine's eat themselves on take off, I've bailed out of broken planes ... only way I get my azz in one of those things again it will be with the intent of leaving it as soon as humanly possible LOL!
