17, from Long Island, get the B avg or better discount.  How much would insurance roughly cost?  I tried to check myself but I got crazy figures like $728 a month?!?!  About how much do you guys think I would pay.

Your rates should go down the H3 is a safe vehicle.  My rates dropped $75 from my sedan to the H3 when I got it.  I pay $500 for 6 months but NJ is high for ins.

you are also a lot older then me though.  I know the $728 figure is wrong...I figured the insurance would be fairly cheap despite my age...because it is so safe.  How much do you think someone my age would pay?  Or do you think it would be about the same as yours?

Funny you should ask.  My wife's 2001 Honda Civic EX has the exact premium as my H3.   I don't know how that happened but the coverages are the same.

It can vary by your age, accident prevention courses, driver training courses, zip code, how far to work or school, credit rating, trim level of the H3 and coverage amounts.

Myself, I pay less than $225 evert six months with better coverages than Mr_Pat posted.

I pay about 120/month for mine.

Keep in mind, insurance isn't just for you, it's for the people you could potentially kill or mame.  You can thank the other kids your age who are wreckless and drink and drive.

Also dude you may have to take into consideration that you're 17 so you're insurance will probably be 150+$ more than what I pay.

I am 30 years old, or was when my quote came last year :) live in Northern NJ and paid about $1800 for the whole year with State Farm, I did get a check for almost $200 I think though, so around $1600 it cost me, seemes like very expensive compared to others, I have no accidents or tickets.... perhaps my credit is causing it ? Also it did drop almost $400 from first year I had it insured with them.
