At 42 mph on decell my H3 "slips". This does not occur everytime but when it does it is very noticable! I just got it back from service department #2 after a week in the shop. Service dept #1 "reprogramed" the tranny and that was supposed to do the trick. I left the first dealership because not only did they not fix the tranny but I was treated like white trailer park trash....I wasn't driving an H2. So tech at dealer #2 says it is normal as it is coming out of overdrive?? Anyone have this problem?? Had total on-star module replaced this last time as well. Currently have 11,000 miles on it. I have a rattle coming from the front end that is more like metal on metal....no one can find this either. 500 miles on H3 and the battery went bad in my garage....GM offered to have someone come out and jump start me and I told them to come get the truck and take it back to the dealer.....bad battery...bad luck!!! If I had paid full price for the H3 I would have driven it off a cliff already!! Father in law is GM retired. Still can't decide if the discount is worth having to drive around in a Buick LeCross for a week while my truck sits with incompetent techs trying to fix it. This will be the last GM we buy!! :( I really wanted a H2!!! By the way....anyone else have green??? Man I love the color!!! Barb :)

not sure what you mean by "slips" for the tranny, is it going back and forth between gears, or does it have a hard downshift? GM auto trannies shift slowly, and i don't think a GM "reprogram" will help that. not sure on the H3, but the H2 has a "memory" for the transmission, that will adjust over time to your primary driving conditions. that's why someone driving in a flat valley floor 90% of the time will notice an ugly experience climbing over the Sierra Nevada mountains once in a while. if you're lucky enough to have 2 hummer dealers close, make sure you treat one of them nice, or you're screwed. i can read a bit of "GM rage" in your email, so i would suspect that the service folks picked up on it and handed it back. as for the rattle up front, have you checked the basic stuff, like your skid plate, or brushguard? even if the skidplate bolts are tight, it will still make noises when you turn, since the frame is stronger than the plate and it has a tendency to twist a bit.

Yea the tranny shifts like that. Its not slipping. Its a heavy duty 4 speed. When you let off on the gass and come back on you'll feel a little bump sometimes. its normal. And there is no overdrive.
