the shine is an illusion. the H1 is a factory slantback, 1 of 39 made. Pics look good indeed, and I also like that slantback. Best looking kind of h1 by far.

ORIGINAL: shortbus his 2001, 2 dr pickup looks pretty cool too, 1 of 9 made that year, only 4 civilian. Am I reading this correctly that in 2001 AMG only made 9 hard top pickups, and only 4 were sent over to be civilianised?

I'm not doubting it. It just sounds strange that for all of the vehicles that the military orders, only 5 would be hard top pickups that year since that body syle is used for so many weapons systems. I do know that back then the basic body, the M998 (or M1038 w/winch), is just the tub, and you can buy the doors and tops from 3d echelon supply to make any body variant you want. They are all swappable in just a matter of hours, the only exception is the M997 that had a heavier suspension to carry heavier weapons systems. Even then, the body parts would still fit. I know the civilian versions have had some modifications from thier original military design in the last few years, so I wonder if the body parts are still swappable on those.
