See...Those are two examples of spoilers, they create downforce on the rear end for traction.  The "spoiler" on the HUMMER should be called something else because it probably doesn't do a thing for downforce.

Well, I guess I'm a traditionalist - I don't like either one of them...

I'd have to say NO!!
Spoilers may look good on a sports car, but not on a truck...

These two just don't go together IMO...

Cheers.

I don't think I totally agree with that.  A spoiler on the Dodge Daytona Truck looked pretty good.

My roomate had one of those...its a purely decorational spoiler.  He said it about got ripped off more than anything.  Plus if you remember that mythbusters episode where they tried to see if putting the tailgate down improved MPG but it turns out it actually hurt it, the wind at the point of the spoiler on the pickup truck is actually moving up or even forward from the pocket of air that spins in the truck bed.  So it serves absolutely no purpose even sticking up that high.

As for the proper term..here is what I was always told..
The thing on a race car that pushes it down is a spoiler
The decorational thing on a consumer car that provides no downforce but looks like it should is called a spoiler
The thing on a consumer car that pushes it down is a wing
So that would yes be a spoiler.

Actually very few spoiler are functional..specially at legal speeds.  It's all about coolness!

Yes HummBob, you are correct." Four Words.......FULL SERVICE CAR WASH!!! "

However, you being the Bling Master, would understand if I'm washing the 3 myself so I can save up for my Bling rims......

I love my H3 but to me it needs something in the back, the look of the H2 with the small lights got me thinking and researching some type of rear spoiler, so it is something that i have considered.
This is a great topic because the responses pit 'looks' versus 'function'.......so this is controversial to us H3 owners.
