I want to put a new warn (max) winch on our H2, it comes in a 12,000 or 9,000 pull......w/air comp... what would be the best for the truck........and does any one else own one of them........and do you like it........ Thanks..........Rick

The 12,000lb. winch sounds better because if you have a lot of extra weight it could come in handy but if the 9000lbs winch is cheaper it would seem like a better choice.

My 2 cents..... If both units are of a similar size and close in cost, you have to go with the higher rated unit. I kind of view winch capacity like I do HP, get all you can up to the point where you cause structural failures or compromise other systems. I've never heard anyone complain about having to much winch.

This has nothing to do with the max winch question, but what is the highest weight rating a winch has ever had, for cars
