I can't believe it I just got an email from THCI.  All of us Hummer owners have just lost a well respected friend, club member, and Hummer supporter.  Harold Hawes will be truly missed.  Here's the email if anyone needs any information.

TO: Hummer Club Members

Hummer Club Director, Harold Hawes has passed away. The Hummer Community has lost a good friend and the Club has lost a staunch supporter.

The following information was taken from the Hummer Mailing List.

Tues eve. at 5:00 pm will be the viewing at:

Nicely Funeral Home
405 Allaghaney st.
Clifton Forge, VA. 24422
tel. 540-862-4157

Weds. Aug 22, @ 11:00 am also at Nicely Funeral Home will be the funeral for Uncle Harold.

Immediately following the funeral will be the burial and that will be in Bluefield W.V. Approx. 2 hours away and Bill Hawes thought it would be special to have a Hummer caravan from the funeral to the burial for those that can attend.

Thats how Harold would have done it!

Please help put the word out and if anyone has questions they can call:

Fran Hawes at 704.400.6761
Jesse Spindler at 704-202-3262

I will be attending.... it's the very least I can do for the man.  You really only had to meet him once to know how much he lived these vehicles.

We have truly lost a good friend.  The only thing one could say bad about Harold is that you didn't know him long enough.  I spoke to Bill's daughter briefly this afternoon from the airport where I was headed to Monterey, CA.  I am home now and will be in the caravan on Wednesday.  That is what Harold would have wanted.  I challenge all of the Hummer community to make this the largest Hummer caravan ever.  See Trey's email and be in Clifton Forge, VA on Wednesday.

Good Glenn.... I feel the same way.  In fact.... if that caravan isn't 5 miles long we failed him.  Remember when we were standing around and Harold and Bill started talking about AM General sending them the first H2 to take out and beat up.  They plugged the radiator and overheated it all day long.
