I think this is the biggest fish caught in Texas and it doesn't even come close to those leviathans you guys are reeling in ! !

290 lb alligator gar taken with a Muzzy tipped arrow and 80 lb bow.

Personal Note: I got one of the things (way smaller) bow fishing one time and it is, in my opinion, THE NASTIEST fish in the water.
There are however some folks who actually eat these prehistoric looking bastards. They are so full of bones, that they
have to be done up in a pressure cooker to break 'em down.....

****!!! WTF!!! YIKES!!!

I wasn't gonna do this..........the my fish is bigger than the one that got away thing.  However, this wasn't my fish, sombody has to hold the camera!!!  A friend of a boat dockominium guy that I work with caught this beautiful gal. about six miles out my back door, U.S. side.  This is a lake sturgeon, usually the big ones don't come too far out of the St. Clair River or the shipping channels.  This one was at the Lake St.Clair end of the North Channel, less than a mile from one of my daughter's favorite swimmin spots (I think she struck that spot from the list).  It was line caught last spring, and released after the photos.  It was too big to lift out and weigh without hurting her, so it was coaxed up into the shallows for her debut.

It was almost dark, well it is realy, by the time this photo was set up.  Probably older than all of us!!!!

Fun thread azz7772.  Nice fish.
