Just drove my new H3 to Cleveland From South East Missouri. When I left odometer read 445 when I came back 2145. I averaged a Suprising 18 MPG. I am thrilled. I purchased the H3 in Memphis(Sunrise Hummer) and drove it home, the first tank got 13.5 MPG. I was a little scared but it has improved with every tank. I traded in a 2003 Tahoe and thought I made a mistake. I am a Hummer owner for life.

That's pretty decent mileage. It sounds like those were 99% highway miles though, so don't count on getting that while driving around town.SLURP!

I HEAR THAT!!!! I'm still waiting to break the 15 mpg mark that I seem to be stuck on.

I always get 17mpg whats the big deal about that. The one time i took it for a long highway drive all the way down to virginia beach from ny i got like 22 mpg. right now im at half a tank and 200 miles. I've been driving only on the expressway this week. i have the lux. and i use synthetic oil. since i switched its been better.

don't know how you do it, you are the absolute best I have ever heard of going 22 mpg for a trip!! Theres a multiple page thread on another Hummer board about mileage and out of 50+ people almost everyone is averaging 13.5-16,one guy claimed 21 for a trip and got flamed to hell for it....good thing your here and not there

don't look at the poll#'s, read the thread...NOT one person is claiming 22 mpg...only a very few are even at 17 mixed like you. I'm not sayin you didn't get that...not at all, just that you are the highest I have ever seen. What are the specs on your h3? tire size, man. or auto? Just curious.

I just went through my first tnak and got 16.5 mpg. I'm hoping it goes up some. I just got rid of a 2004 Avalanche and I was getting 15-16 out of that for the same driving with a lot more power. On a recent trip to Minnesota I got 20 mpg out of the Avalanche going 80 the whole way. That I-5 had better beat that.

I doubt the h3 will beat those number by much, if any. h3's just are not gas economical cars, kinda hard when your pushing a heavy azz brick through the air.

Very true. And the Avalanche had a Ravin cat-back on it. That boosted me by about 1 1/2 miles per gallon. Fingers crossed the same happens on the H3 with a cat-back and cold air induction.

I hear that!! I'm holding off on installing a cat back and intake till I see if they really do show gains, well that and the fact that my wife won't give me any money...lol Good luck, let us know if they increase your mpg or not.
