Does anyone know where I can get this elusive monsoon amplifier for my H3?  I just recently upgraded to the factory navigation system and onstar + incar calling is very quiet.

I'm looking for options to spruce up the sound of onstar and the incar calling, any ideas?

I had that problem in mine as well when I installed an OEM nav unit. I bought an aftermarket amplifier and a PAC GM24 sound system interface. Never had the chance to install them and took the Nav unit out and put it into my '08 which does have the Monsoon amp.

I still have both NIB and am going to put in the classified section and on Ebay. If interested, email me at pyodice@sbhcs.com

Thanks.

just use a pac adapter and you can use the stock headunits with any amp in the world...you'll get much better sound then if using the monsoon amp

CCMDoc, Please PM me with the details, thank you for your support in this.

Importkiller, Please link me to what I need, I am a complete newbie when it comes to sound systems if you couldn't tell   All I want is my onstar/carphone to come back, lol.  I am interested in how I would go about wiring this up to the existing speakers, the less I have to cut the better.

guys, does this kit from PAC-audio solve the problem of the Monsoon subwoofer not working with any aftermarket DVD-nav/stereo? I was told at BestBuy that supposedly they have to replace the amplifier, wriing and even the subwoofer to make it work -- or have only 6 stock speakers function, without the 7th, the subwoofer.

this is great indeed, I did see it before. However, the guy had a stock audio, probably Bose, whilst I have the Monsoon 6-Cd changer with 7 speakers. It's exactly the latter configuration that raised eyebrows in BestBuy, and they told me that due to specific configuration used by Monsoon, they supposedly can't make the Subwoofer work after installing an after-market DVD Nav system. Supposedly the only way to go is by rewiing and changing all speakers and amplifier.

Otherwise, for those who have stock radio/music system, and want to keep the OnStar the chimes, they can go not only wth PAC, but also Metra, specifically:

Must get:

Metra OnStar-Compatible Wiring Harness (GMOS04) $99.99
Metra GM Antenna Adapter (40-GM10) $15.99

Optional:

Metra Radio Wiring Harness (PA-0180) $18.99
Metra Universal Steering Wheel Interface (ASWIX) $89.99
