Hi,

my H3 has now 20,000 miles and yesterday I noticed that when driving over steep slopes, the OIL Message appeared several times.
I checked the engine oil but it was almost full. What else can the message mean?
Thanks for your help,

Daniel

By almost full do you mean it is a little low?    If it is a little low you may get the oil light when going over a steep hill.  Try filling it all the way up and see what happens.

If you are full of oil and getting the oil light something doesn't sound right, if it were me I would take it to the dealer.

unless you are driving up/down some ridiculously steep hills you may just have a bad sensor..

Well they were very steep, it was while I was at a offroad-terrain with hills that have something like 55 to 60%

That could be steep enough to do it.  All your oil is running to the back of your oil pan so the sensor is not detecting any oil.

This is where an oil pressure gauge would come in handy...

If thats the only time the oil light comes on I would not worry about it.

hmm, ok. I was just wondering because I was several times at this terrain and it never appeared the Oil message until now.
