I had a flat at 18K caused by a big nail. I am sure the "premium" tire would have suffered the same fate.

We've had a low tire caused by a nail. They're probably a little more puncture resistant, ... but are certainly capable of getting a flat.

I had a flat last weekend on mine only 42,000 miles, I was running down a gravel road about 60 and the low tire light came on. Had a nice hole knocked in it right in the middle of the tread. I have taken it through the Superlift Offroad park @ Hot Springs and havent had any issues there on level 1 and 2 trails, and there is heck uva lot of rocks there and havent had any issues at all up there.

The Bridgestone Dueler AT is not a bad tire for an all terrain tread. However it's not meant for serious off roading which is what FourWheeler is looking for. No, it's not a Bogger or or an Interco Tire but it won't howl like demons at the gates of hell either. It's a tire soccer moms won't object to and you know as well as I do there are MORE than a few Mommies driving HUMMERs. Here's the specs on the tire for those who care... Sizes and Specifications High Res Photo (.tif) Print Product Sheet Warranty For the adventurous driver searching for a balance between refined highway driving and off-road performance, the Bridgestone Dueler A/T with UNI-T has it all. It lets you conquer both worlds...without compromising the comfort of a civilized ride. Innovative Tire Design - A Comprehensive Tire Design Method This method improves handling in wet or dry conditions and reduces irregular treadwear by combining an ideal tread design, casing shape, materials and construction. Innovative Roundness - Rounder Is Better Rounder overall tire shape provides better balance for wet or dry handling. Innovative Compound - Longer Is Stronger L.L. Carbon utilizes a special form of molecular re-engineered carbon black, a key factor in improving tire wear while enhancing wet performance. 5 Degree Noise Reduction Produces noise-canceling sound waves to significantly reduce tire noise on road surfaces. Rim Guard The raised rubber ridge acts like a bumper to protect wheels from curb damage. Spiral Wrap Spiral Wrap is a continuous nylon wrap that encircles the whole tire, helping the tire hold its original shape to improve high speed capability. Warranty Summary: Platinum Pact Limited Warranty Buy & Try 30 Day Guarantee Standard Limited Warranty For complete warranty details and information click here.

Well put RealJeep. I have 7000 on mine, they are ok in the dirt, pretty good on the snow covered roads, but they wouldn't be my first choice for a replacement tire. Need more width for the sand. IMO they are hard to beat for fetchin groceries and everyday driving.

Thanks Doc Olds, There are literally dozens or tires out there and none does it all. A mud tire will get you stuck in the sand and a sand tire will get you stuck in the mud. There are some pretty good AT tires but they each compromise something. If you want a tough tire here ya go:
Super Swamper TSL/SX The Super Swamper TSL/SX was designed for extremely tough off road conditions where sidewall strength and protection is needed to withstand the severe scuffing from running in ruts and snagging roots and rocks. This tire has a strong nylon or polyester bias ply body with dual belts under the tread and wrap-a-round lugs. The sidewall lugs not only protect the sidewall but also provide extra traction when climbing out of ruts. BUT MIND YOU! I had these on my CJ-5 and felt like Fred Flintstone when they were cold. Not to mention the radio was useless when you went over 40 MPH. So I'll stick with my soccer Mom tires that came with it and rethink what I'm going to do in about 40,000 miles.

Back in the day I had one of the first Radial all terraine type tires out there. Gates Commandos on the recycled japanese steel 1975 K5 Blazer. On white steel wagon wheels no less!!!I was stylin, but in the summer with the windows down, all you could hear was those babies singing. I'm with ya, I'll stay with the Duelers until they are toast, and put some nice boots on after that.

IK that is funny cuz I had the BFGs for years (consecutively) , the last set maybe 4-5 yrs ago. When I was buyin them in the 80s KUDOS, but damn straight, not much changed after that. I got the same miles on the last set as I did on the first 20 years apart. No improvement there. They got good tires, just I'm done and looking for something else?
