I know stock offset is +38, my new rims are +12 so they will stick out more than stock. Will that affect the size tire I can get? I was gonna go with either 1 35x12.5 baja claw or truxxis (sp) but now don't know if the offset will make a 35 rub. Anybody have an idea? If not I may just play it safe and get a big 33 instead.

I've been contemplating on wheels sizes and tires, I pretty much have the same dilemma you do, from what i've found out, yes a lot has to do with the wheel size and offset on the actuall tire size. Actuall specs are 6 5.5, 6 backspace and postive offset at +38, to be exact. Most of the trucks with 35's tires still use the stock wheel have no problems with rubbing. The best thing to probably do is level it and try different tire sizes to see how they fit with the wheels, which is what i'll probably have to do too.

so stock backspacing is 6"? Good cause I measured mine and the backspacing is 5". It will stick out one inch more than the stock rim, thats not too bad. I think a 315/70 will fit.

ANYBODY WITH 35'S......CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN 1" OF CLEARANCE AS THE TIRE TURNS INTO THE WHEELWELL? I think that would be the only point that it could rub, once in the wheel well it should be ok as the rim will sit farther away from the tierods and hub.

Actually if you look at green lanterns h3 with 35's in this THREAD you can see by the pics taht he has a ton of clearance, also he didn't crank the tortion bars, it is a stock ride height. I think you can add rims with less + offset which of course ='s less backspacing and be ok, especially if you level off the front.

Nice pics! I wonder if the tread on a mud terrain tire would affect the overall diameter?

The BS on the stock wheels is 5", not 6". I've seen 35's on stock rims and aftermarket rims with less BS and they all rub somewhere under certain conditions. Mostly on the swaybar and the fender liners under full lock or when getting stuffed offroad. Daily driving shouldn't be much of a problem except for tight turns.
