Hey guys,

Just bought my 07 Tactical H3 and was told by the dealer i would have the 3 month trial to XM.  I keep trying the band button on the radio but it never goes into the XM1 or XM2 channels.

So my question is ...Are there some H3 2007's that dont have the ability to get the XM trial?  My dealer tells me he doesnt know why it isnt working but that they all come with it.....Figured id ask.  Thanks

Yup they come with it.  Something must be wrong with your band selector?  Does it switch to other channels and AM & FM?  You were promised 3 months free.  Your warranty should take care of it. Did you get the Monsoon package as well?

I plan to switch to Sirius but the transition is a little tricky.  Sirius has NASCAR full time and I'm a big fan!

So what's your plan..to renew after 3 mths or switch to Sirius?  Either way you need for them to fix it..unless you don't want either.

call XM and tell them, you'll need your ID that shows up on channel 1.  I had the same thing happen with mine, they just needed to activate it.

If you can not cycle through it with the Band button, then it does not have it.

I would have the dealer check it out and put in a new radio if they told you it had it.

All 07's do not come with xm.  I have an 07 H3x with the Monsoon system and it did not come with xm.  I didn't want it anyway as I prefer Sirius.

I think blackstangs is right--they didn't put the XM equipment in your Hummer. All Hummers w/ XM come with 3 month trial but either your XM equipment isn't installed or isn't hooked up. Is XM on your invoice?

XM is most definitely an option on '07's ($325).  it will definitely be on your invoice or window sticker.

if your h3 has the xm antenna on the roof then it should have an xm ready radio...do you have the antenna? If so and you cannot get into the xm mode by using the band button then you do not have an xm headunit. Either there was a mix u at the factory and the wrong head unit was installed or the dealership needed a radio for a repair and took on eout of a truck on the lot and later replaced it with the wrong type. I've seen it done a few times.

I have an '07 H3X and I have it.  I think some of you guys got screwed.  Adding Sirius later may be tougher unless you like those tacky dash mount monitors.

Not all H3s come with it.  You won't know just by looking at the radio or antenna.  If you press the band button and it goes from am to xm than you got it.  If it was on your window sticker than have them install it, it is a simple fix the factory radio has the connections there for it.

Hey guys when the merger of XM & Sirius is done near the end of the year, you won't need to change anything. You will be able to get both on either reciever. If you do a google search for XM/Sirius Merger you can read all about it. There's going to be all kinds of different packages available.

If you are trying to start XM now you will need to go to ch1 preview and push the tune or vol button until your ID comes up. Then call XM with your ID code. It takes only a few mins to do. I have XM now in my H3 and I hate it.

I have Sirius in my other car and it rocks, it's much better, but I'm going to wait a few months and not start removing stuff and changing stuff around. The merger has a ways to go yet, however they are real sure it's going to happen.

If you do want Sirius now check out Crutchfield. They have Siuius box for GM. They say the XM box is behind the glove box??? I droped my glove box door to the floor and all I see is A/C stuff. I think it's above the glove box.I pulled the passenger side dash panel next the the glove box and I think I see it up there...

Go to the reviews section for thr Sirius box and there is a lot of good info there. People say that the roof mounted XM antenna that came with your Hummer works fine for the Sirius, you just need to remove the yellow clip on the connector. They explain a lot about it, but it's GM in general.....Good Luck

The quick way to tell if you have XM is do like blackstangs posted, and that's check the trucks' invoice/sticker.  If you can't cycle through the XM bands with your radio's band button, even if there is no subscription tied to this radio, you would still be able to pull up channel 1 and the XM tuner I.D. number.

Looking at the antenna is not a valid way to determin if you have XM, unless your willing to drop the headliner.  There are 3 antenna build options on the H3, each with a different wiring harness plug underneath.  The antenna's are identical on the top (visable) side.

If I was in your shoes, I'd go back to the dealer, and ask for the sales manager, and explain that you bought this peticlular 3 because you were told by the slaesman that it had XM.  They should do right by upgrading your radio/tuner/harness, etc.
