Holy crap....I wasn't looking where I was going earlier today and found this damn thing 2 inches from my nose.

I screamed like a school girl, nearly fell on my ass while back peddling and then couldn't stop laughing at myself.

--- (Hell, I was still grinning at my own dumb ass.. after going back to the truck for the camera and while taking the shot)

Stupid things are everywhere this year.....and fat as hell.....from leg tip to leg tip, this guy was close to 3 inches in dia.

Pretty harmless though, never had one bite me....Just a plain old Texas Field Spider.

That's just wrong...................I nearly passed out from the pic.

Some of us do scream like a little girl when they see a spider.

Ask my wife, she has had to save me many times.

All spiders need to be squashed!!!!!

do they start shaking their web when you get close to them? There are ones around here that do.. and they look like that... EEEEEEEK!

Drew: Sometimes they do, sometimes not....Maybe it's a male / female thing...They all act different.

Normally, I'm not bothered by spiders as long as I see them...But this one caught me off guard.

There is another vulgar looking brown type that I have named the "Boingy-Boingy" spider. Those insidious
little bastards can build a web across a sidewalk in two minutes flat and when you inevitably walk through
the web, they ALWAYS, I mean ALWAYS, hit you in the forehead and do this boingy-boingy dance thing till you
can knock them off. Many a beer has been lost to these vile little bastards......Cause you drop what ever you
have in hand and start slapping away....Evil creatures....making folks waste perfectly good beers....

I got bit by a Brown Recluse when I was about 6. Still have the war wound on the inside of my lower leg. DAMN I HATE SPIDERS. You woulda had to carry me back to the house if I had been with you.

I go spider hunting couple times a week. I live on Lake St.Clair, and where there is a lake, there are bugs, and where there is bugs = SPIDERS. Except these Big Brown Juicy cheese buckets live on anything parked outside. I do battle with them on the boat, and on the Hummer. Garage is full of olsmobiles. Everynight they creep out and f>>> up my clean truck. Can't leave the windows down or they move in.

Gunner......I had one drop down from the visor right in front of me on the I94 & I696 interchange going the speed limit of course, I about lost it right there. I'm laughing now, but scared the bejeebers out a me. THEY DO GROW EM BIG IN TEXAS!

I hate spiders like that one... my mom lied to me and told me if it bit me my fingernails would fall over.... jokes on her though... I'm eventaully going to pick her second rate nursing home.....

I used to aerosol can and lighter those things..... hard to believe that I never burnt the farm down.

caoming from a guy that just got bit from a black widow last fall (some will remember that) I can honestly say that I hate all spiders now. That lil SOB had me on the DL list for almost two weeks. The doc in the ER had to go on the internet to find out how to treat a black widow bite...gave me alot of confidence

Volunteer Fire Chief that lost a foot to one. It seems he was diabetic, with all that entailed….so when
he got bit, you can just imagine the complications that ensued.

Doc Olds: I used to have an old Ford 4X4 with a sunroof and no AC….The glass stayed out of it most of the time.
Made for some very interesting country roads and varmint hunting at night.

Muddydawg75: Your mom sounds like my mom. You ever get the ‘ol “don’t swallow the watermelon seeds” speech?
Like I would have done it on purpose.......

Oh...I saw your post Mr Drew.

Thing was, it was after I saw your picture on another thread.
Funny turned into downright scary......

The mental imagery of you doing the boingy-boingy temporarily blinded my "Minds Eye" so I was unable to type out a response.
