or if not jealousy, just plain angst!

i mean, if i was in a neon and older, i don't know if i'd flip off a hummer, but i'd absolutely flip somebody off

But like you said..since it's fashionable, they rather flip off a HUMMER than a Tahoe.

I'd flip off the person forcing me to drive an old neon.

yep. people are (i hate to sound like a broken record), all of us at times i'm sure, sort of follow-the-leader. sheep. and i think alot of people have alot of angst against big or expensive or both vehicles (or houses, or clothes, or choice of schools - i got screamed at once at a bar by a handful of people for revealing that i sent my son to a private school, i stopped going to that bar!)...

and i think the question isn't why, but "how did it come to be that peopel feel its ok to single out hummers". i pondered that as best i could in another thread that was about 2 pages of typing for the first post.

I got a thumbs up today. My husband and I were out cruising around. I was driving...cause I'm selfish that way...anyway, he told me some guy in his front yard gave me a thumbs up. I said "are you sure it was his thumb?".....my first "gestered" reaction, an emotional day, indeed

There is no such thing as a nice Neon.

We have not received any negative responses (to our faces), but we have found spit once or twice on our windows. Most people do not know what to think of us, since we drive an '06 H2, but we dress like a couple of bums. Or if we are dressed to the nines, they still don't know what to make of us because my wife has bright pink hair and I have a purple mohawk. It can be fun.....

Hi All,

Being so rare in the UK, I think I have seen it and heard it all from Thumbs up to full on wanker signs thrown at me. Hey but as long as that’s as far as it goes,I can live with that! Proud to drive my Hummer, have all the cars, got all the cars, but I love my HUMMER full stop!

Also being Asian I was expecting loads of abuse from the anti USA Asian lobby crew, but not a single thing, only praise and admiration for the H2, went to a family wedding, I drove the H2, my brother drove the Ferrari. Everybody came running up to the H2 and started taking there pics with it! Was driving through the city in the summer, and there was a load of USA tourists hanging around (coach), as soon as they saw the H2, had the thumbs and USA chants. Made me laugh. Seem to get the abuse from other road drivers and your average stuck up British, green CND party lovers. This sunday in Bristol was crusing, when I saw this family as soon as they saw the H2, they started to stare at it in disgust shaking their heads from side to side, inculding their ugly teenage kids. Could'nt resist it, but put the window down, and gave them the finger as I went past. I SMILED

Saw a guy in a dodge viper the other day when I was in the H2, and right away as soon as saw me he waved out. It was like a USA vehicle bond thingy!

Just for the record, I have had the H2 for 6 months, had have done some serious laps of the UK in it and have only seen one other, a jet black one in Birmingham, and it was Sikh guy with a turban driving it…lol. Nice guy, love the unity between the H2 owners! Makes u proud to drive one.

I'm so oblivious when I'm driving I really don't notice. Too busy reading, talking on my cell, and eating.

that sounds like fun, weapons, lots of fun.

They used to be pretty rare around here, but my brother got an H2 several months ago now & works here, so i see his 20 times a day, and it seems like they are more common out and around as well.

I will say that as i own the truck longer, i pay less attention to the reactions it generates.
