Well, I ended up meeting up with a guy I work with and some of his friends.  We took my Duece, 3 Suzukis and a Cherokee out and ran some trails.  I don't have all the pics from them yet so most of the ones I took is of the other vehicles.  I pulled one Samari out because the others didn't have enough weight to pull him out.  I got wiched out of one hole because I high centered my front skid plates.  I cannot describe the sounds coming out of that Samari and that 9000lb winch when he tried to yank me out.

Probably the best part was running into a group of Land Rovers playing in the holes.  I was the last one to cross this one big area and the leader of the Rovers said... ALL RIGHT... an H2... I haven't pulled one of those out of the mud yet....  I need one for my collection.

He was denied....  I made it through...

Anywho.... some pics!!

Got this one right as his fender flare ripped off....

Views from the Fire Tower on Apple Pie Hill...

Almost 100 miles visability... that would have been NY on a clearer day...

Time to go home....  We left my house at 1100, met up at 1230, left the meeting place at 1300, and I got back home at 2100.

I'll be there next time, looks like I missed out on the fun.  Let me know when the next run is, Lois and I will be there!

My buddies go almost every weekend.... My truck took a bloody beating though... Some of these trails are just big enough for the Samaris and I took my Duece through them...  I did have to pass a couple of holes just because they were so narrow... BUT.... I wish I had a picture of this one field I was in... I did 4lo lock doughnuts until I saw 200 degrees on my tranny temp... I had 6 guys just standing there cheering me on...  and I almost forgot the Land Rover pics.... Rumor had it that there was a Unimog out there... but we never saw it...

Here is a quick video of the hole that the Rover guys were dying to see me drown in....  I made it with zero issues....

But this guy didn't....

The mud is very deceptive because it isn't dirt... it is sand.... and it will eat your ride up in seconds.  I drove over something that looked like hard pack and found myself digging 18" ruts.  I almost had to be yanked out of it.
