Hello everyone.

I've read quite a few threads so far and have found answers to some of my questions like is the visibility and acceleration as bad as the reviews, the not so off-road capabilities with the base model, safety locks, etc.
I'm looking to buy the H3 because I just love the way it looks. It's different, than the other SUV's in it's class and I like that.

What I haven't found was the opinion of those with a 5spd. Is the gas mileage or acceleration any better?
Does it appear to have any strain on the engine or transmission since the H3 is so heavy?

Radio question. I'm not heavily into music so I don't need the 6 disc changer or monsoon system, but I do like to hear some old school tunes from time to time. Will I need to transfer my amp and subwoofer from my blazer or is the volume and base pretty good in the H3 standard equipment?

BTW, I'm looking at purchasing the base model with the sunroof, I'd love to add just the leather seats without the luxury package though, I'm not into chrome, too flashy for me. I'll add the nerf bars myself since I can get them cheaper than from the factory install.

Thanks.

OK...

I dont have the 5 speed so I cant help you there, sitting in traffic everyday I wouldn't want the 5 sp.

I have the both the lux and adv packages so I have the mp3 player and the monsoon system,  I am very happy with it, good bass, loud enough, I wouldn't waste the space installing an amp and subs.

I dont think you can add just the leather seats w/o the lux package, thats how it was in 06 anyway.

Sunroof is great, its big, with the windows down it almost feels like a hard top convetible.

For the price I would at least add the adv package, it's a Hummer!!!

Thanks for the reply.
I've had  5 cars over time and all but the blazer was a stick, I miss driving a stick.

Spending the extra 2-3k for the adventure package doesn't make sense for me since I will not be taking it off-road.  I'd love the luxury pkg but all I want from it is the seats, that's a waste of money for me.
I'll just determine whether or not I need the amp and sub, I'll just need to transfer it from my blazer should I find the need for it.

Thanks for trying.

if ur not gonna offroad it... no need for the adv. package except for the resale value
i dont have the adv. package .. our 06 was adv/cloth seats / no chrome or sunroof
so if ya dont get the adv. use that extra money for the lux package and you can always
sell the chrome stuff and add the black stuff back

just a thought

ur gonna love the 3 either way

Then you should know not to expect an immediate response sometimes and a whiney; "20 views and no one can answer my questions?" within 5 hours of your first post is not going to get you anywhere here either.

Shark, I would consider the lux package. Maybe you don't need/want the chrome but you get the seats, floor mats, nicer steering wheel and the Monsoon system. I really enjoy the sound from the Monsoon. With the lux package everything is wired properly--heated power seats, Monsoon, and is covered under warranty.

I wanted a 5spd but there was only one on the lot, so I went auto. The auto is good, even though it's only 4 speed, and from what I hear its characteristics improve after a PCM tune from pcmforless (see the PCM threads). Auto also comes with Stabilitrak, a nice safety feature. Yes, it doesn't accelerate like a sports car but it's fine. You can also improve it with cold air intake, better exhaust and the PCM tune. And I think the offroad capabilities of my non-adventure H3 are fine. You won't fine me trying to do Golden Stairs at Moab or tackle 20" of mud, so I don't need the benefits of the adventure package. I've spent over 100 miles offroad so far, from mild to medium+, and haven't been stuck once. Did bend the nerf bar, that's why they are coming off in favor of rock rails.

Sunroof is awesome and huge, it was one of my "must-have" features when I bought mine.

And as for views, I often visit the forum just to see what's happening and I don't always have time to respond. 7 hours later, you have a bunch of responses. It's Sunday morning, we're all relaxing over coffee!

There was no chrome that I know of that came with the Lux. package (unless you are talking about the front grill which is standard).  The chrome package and/or chrome wheels were extra.  I actually went the other way and paid for the body color grill.

Wow, you're a jerk.
Nice response. I wasn't whining. There were plenty of posts on here within that time frame within the same forum.
If you have nothing positive to offer try ignoring the post next time.

I was just saying thank you for responding and trying to answer my questions.
You couldn't answer the ones about the stick and you don't have the stock audio equipment so you couldn't really answer that one either.
Jeez some of you folks are a bit sensitive around here.
