Has anyone added a factory XM Module to there H2?  I have a 2004 Hummer H2 with the NAV system but it seems as if it didn't come with the XM module.  I have the Y91 code in the glove box.  When I use the band button XM is not one of the options.  Can anyone help?

Thanks Rob

This should not be a problem.  I had a 2003 H2 without NAV (it was not an option then).  I added a 2005 NAV radio and XM module.  It was pretty much plug and play.  You will have to add the XM antenna to go with the XM module.  The XM module is mounted up behind the glove box.  There will be mounts already there.  The XM module will come with the harness that plugs into the radio.  Once it is plugged in, the radio will see the XM module and it will show up as an option when the band button is pressed.  This should be pretty easy other than tearing the dash apart.

Thanks Wendell...   I looked behind the glove box and the bracket that it sits in is not there, also don't see the wires.  So am I to assume that I will have to run all the wires including the antenna wire?

Thanks Rob

Question: is there a way to retain the XM Satellite in an H3 if one is upgrading to an aftermarket DVD/nav system?

If not possible, then what can be done to the XM antenna? Can it be used for a portable XM receiver (such as Pioneer Inno or Samsung Helix)? Or can it be converted to act as an antenna for a cell phone, such as a GSM phone? What is needed in terms of adaptors or harnesses?

GM does make the XM upgrade kit for the H3. I didn't look at the H2. I sell for less than the site mentioned.

In doing some more research I found out that the 1780-3005 is just for the H3 and the H2 XM kit is 1780-2609   The only bummer for me is it says not for vehicles with roof mounted am-fm antenna and that is what my truck has. I am about to spend the $350 to find out.
