Here are some photos of what you can do with a good Dual Action Polisher, such as the Porter Cable 7424.  The random orbit action of the six-inch polishing pad provides a smooth, swirl-free finish.  You do not have to worry about burning the paint due to this.

I had been doing some wheeling in West Virginia and got quite a few scratches.  Some quite deep, at least deep enough that you could feel it with your fingernail.

Example #1:

Example #2:

Example #3:

Example #4:

After a couple of pressure washes and then a hand wash, it was ready to start.
The pads for the PC polisher come in different colors, which relate somewhat to how abrasive they are.
I started with a yellow pad and a fairly abrasive compound by Poor Boys, SSR3.
After going over the H3 with that setup, I moved to a Orange Pad and much less abrasive Zaino Fusion, Paint Cleaner Swirl Remover.
Between these two pads and compounds, the scratches were either gone or sufficiently reduced, you could hardly see them.   I can look under just the right light and may see what is left of the deepest scratches, but most would not have a clue.
From that I moved to another Zaino product.  It is designed to help fill some mirco scratches and swirls.  It is the Z-5 polish.  Two coats of this using the Grey pad.  In between each coat, I applied Z-6, Gloss Enhancer, by hand using a mircofiber towel, which helps remove any residue of the Z-5 and adds to the overall shine.  Then came two coats of Z-2 Polish using the blue pad, also from Zanio.  After each coat of Z-2, I also used the Z-6 Gloss Enhancer.

And here are the results.

Still working the buff

Wendell,

That looks amazing!! Great job!!
I also use Zaino on my C6 Vette, works great for me; seems to last longer than most.

Are you a member of the Corvette Forum?

Thanks,
Mark

The next thing Trey will be trading in is his phone...

Gotta slow him down some.  Or at least take away his polisher for a week.
