Click Here for an H3 Flex mod article on OFF-ROAD.COM

The parts used were made to be used primarily for Jeeps, but the straight axle rear on the H3 was a good fit... mods worked great.
Just thought it might be a launching point for some ideas for anyone who wants to do some wheeling mods to their H3, and is handy enough to DIY.

What I want to know is how they dealt with the abs wire. Mine is pulled pretty tight when my suspension is fully drooped. If I gave it anymore flex, the wire would break.

Great point...  those ABS wires have quite a bit of extra slack to work with in there, but you can't tell at first - the only problem is the little plastic clamps that hold them against the frame in the wheelwell.  If you crack open those clamps, you will get some extra room for flexing them there.  The only downside is the potential for the extra "unsecured" lines to snag on something.

You might consider re-clamping them further up on the wire if you want to make sure they don't get caught on something.

You can see the clamp I am referring to at the top of the picture below, right on the side of the frame rail.  The plastic clamp there can be pried open pretty easily, and the "slack" in the wire is available just above the frame rail, out of view:

Thanks for the info. Now all I need to do is get the parts to free up the extra travel. I wonder if there is any risk to over-extending the operating angles of the cv joints on the front end with the shocks and sway bar disconnected.

The short answer: Yes That is why we stuck with the addressing just the rear axle for this particular project.
Eventually, we will probably look into disconnecting the front, but with the expectations that we may also have to upgrade or modify other components to prevent breakage.

Anytime you modify a vehicle to extend beyond its previous limits, it will reveal new "weak links."
It's all part of the endless cycle of off-road modifications...

Better picture of the ABS line issue, as well as much more detailed information on the installation, are available here as well:
