Tomm I understand your dilemma if the wife is getting the luxury suv that she wants then, it is more than reasonable that you should have what you want.  The wife does work even being a stay at home Mom and raising your children don't you think!
Good luck in whatever vehicle you decide to go with.

Thanks... The catch is the Navigator is averaging 9-10 mpg so when possible when she is out without the kids shes been taking my cadi which gets around 17-18 which is close to that of the H3.  So if I get the H3 and she hates it that means she wont drive it and that would cost me more money in gas if she takes the Navigator everywhere.  I work from home so my cars always have low miles since I only use them at night and the weekends. She drives everywhere taking the kids all over.. We are spending almost $400 a month in gas which is such a waste of money so I will have to keep drilling her about how much she will love the H3 over time..   My son on the other hand although he is only 3 loves it so I am sure when they go out he will want mom to take dad's car.

After some thought...Consider this (you know your wife better than us)..But, If you get it and she is not 100% behind you and one little thing goes wrong, you'll probably never hear the end of it...

u got that right...

I got the lux3 pkg on my Hummer but it lacks a lot of stuff from my Caddy.  Both Tomm & I have the CTS.  It's nice to have all those controls on your steering wheels too.  The cost of the two vehicles are very close.

For me the H3 was an exciting change to something different.  I know it turns a lot of heads.

Peeps around me herre in OKC are getting use to seeing the H3 everywhere now and I don't get near as many questions or stares anymore.....or maybe it's that I've taken the dead Prius owner's body off the hood...I don't know which it is...

Tomm,
Ouch I never knew the Navigator was that bad on gas mileage eeeekkkk... I don't blame you for wanting something more economical.

I know we've kinda bounced around on the topic here kinda...but I thought I would share this bit of my H3 reliability experience.

Ever since I bought this '07 back in October of '06, the steering shaft and pedal assembly would pop and wobble noisily when the truck would heat up. It usually happened when the truck was going from a start to a stop, vice versa, or any other type of change in the axis of movement is the best way I could ever describe it to the dealer (Sewell in Dallas.)

Well, 5 trips to the dealer, 3 upper intermediate shafts, and one lower intermediate shaft, and 7 months later the problem seems to finally be eliminated. Jay and Byron at Sewell said it seems the lower intermediate shaft was bad and that was causing the other upper shafts to become weak and start to flex. Sounds like they may have been on the money.

I took the 3 in last week for a tire rotation and they mentioned some other folks had come in with similar problems now. If any of you have had the problem, I suggest calling the Hummer national office like I did to report any recurrent issues. They treated me VERY well.

Other than that, I love my ole big black H3.

Godzookie is the best vehicle I have ever had. No problems with 10800+ miles being just over 1 year. I get 17.6 mpg (last time I checked) I use it on road and off road. It am just awed about this truck. I have a few minor things that I will have the dealer look at next servicing (12000 miles). I love my truck and when it is time to get a new truck you can be sure as shlt it will be a hummer...

Wish the wife would support me... All she keeps saying is that its so ugly.  In any case I have a deal pending and a deposit on a vehicle that they are holding for me till Saturday so I can make up my decision.
My wife loves mine and wants one too. I'll probably give her mine and get the V8 H3 in a few years..
