Has anyone had luck cleaning a supposedly fouled MAFS.  The dealership claims mine is fouled, due to an aftermarket air filter.  They say they cant be cleaned but I've heard rumors to the contrary.  Looking for advice
thanks

Never heard of it being done successfully. But if it is already messed up, what have you got to lose?

I had a granatelli for my LS1 and it crapped the bed so I had to put the stock dirty one back in... and it had been sitting in an empty toolbox drawer....  I never noticed the difference... All you really have to do is use Electrical Contact Cleaner.  It comes in a big red aerosol can by CRC.  REMEMBER!!! No windex, no carb cleaner, no brake cleaner, no rubbing alcohol, and no Q-Tips.

Yeah, I have also cleaned mine, probably a half a dozen times. I also use a CRC product, but I think it is actually called "MAF Cleaner". It comes in a Black can. I just spray it on and it seems to do the trick. Everytime I re-oil my filter I put way too much oil on it and my supercharger just sucks the oil through the filter and cakes up the MAF. That cleaner seems to work just fine.

so.. just spray it on there huh?  can you leave the MAF in the vehicle and just disconnect the sensor from the power, or is it better to remove it from the truck?
Thanks for all advice.

I did mine out of the vehicle... I don't think I would want to do it installed just so that I know I got it from both sides... but...

the pressure from the can is all you really need.

I never heard of MAF cleaner... gonna look for it now...  CRC has the best stuff.... I carry a few of their products on my service vehicle.

I know this is months later but I was wonder what the vehcile was acting like to make you take it in to be checked.  I also have an aftermarket air filter and just today the check engine light came on and the vehicle acted like it had no power.  I have noticed it being slugish for a while now, but it will not hardly move now.  Any help?
