Xtreme -> RE: ERR THEIVES...security question (5/27/2007 1:40:19 PM)

Aside from one which incorporates a mercury switch (sensing vehicular movement of some kind), I did have a high-end alarm system in my Ferrari back in the late 80s which in fact sensed anything which entered a preset perimeter of the vehicle. It would warn those who entered the perimeter with verbal commands and announced with a warning that the alarm would activate within a ten second time frame. I believe that the alarm system was in fact a combination of two alarm systems...one being a 'Viper' system, yet the other name escapes me at the moment. Although I and others did hear the warning 'go off' a few times, I never did experience any type of vandalism/damage/attempted burglary/theft of any kind. BTW, although money is/was not a consideration, I never/have ever allowed any of my vehicles to be valet parked, as it 'keeps one less hand out of the cookie jar'...so to speak. [sm=icon_cheers.gif]
