Hello- I'm new here and to Hummers altogether. I just recently acquired an '07 H3. Here is my post from the new member section: http://www.hummerforums.com/m_62792/tm.htm

I noticed after 5-6 days with the H3 that it seemed to be leaning a bit to the left. I did all the normal checks and balances to make sure that it wasn't just sitting on an uneven surface, that it wasn't just my head that was crooked, etc. I pulled in the garage, checked that all 4 tires were inflated evenly, and it was obvious that it was off. I had my wife and a friend look and they noticed right away.
I then measured from top of tire to edge of wheel well. The rear driver side has a 7 1/2" space, and the rear pass side is 8 1/4". Only 3/4" diff, but very noticable.
The front dr side space is 4 3/4" and the pass side 5 3/4". An inch diff.
The dealer said they have no prob looking at it/correcting it, but they're also claiming that the H3's come from the factory with a slight tilt to the driver side.
So my question is this- Has anyone else had this issue and been told the same thing? It sounds completely insane to me that they would come from the factory tilted. Even if they do, I want mine even. This dealer has been incredibly easy to work with and very straight up, but this just seemed strange.
Lastly, is this something easy enough to correct myself? I have no problem getting under there to make the adjustment, it's just not something I've done before.

Any thoughts/opinions/input is welcomed.

Sweet ride............

You have the "H3 Lean".....very common. Just let the dealer correct your Z-Line measurement and it will be fine.

I had them level mine out front to back and side to side. Love it now.

Note: The DS rear corner will still be a little low when fueled up.

Gunner- Thanks for the compliment and the info.
Yeah, I'd expect a slight lean w/ a full tank, but those measurements were taken at just under a quarter tank.
I'm sure it'll be a quick fix/adjust- I just thought it was odd that it would be a normal or common issue from the factory.
Why wouldn't the factory level them out on the line? I guess cause that would make too much sense.

I have the same issue, but with a twist. When I am driving, the truck leans to the left. When I'm a passenger, it leans to the right.

I took it to the dealer to see what they could do to correct the problem. They enrolled me in Jenny Craig.

It's common mine leans when it has a full tank of gas.

I fixed mine myself. It''s very simple. Take a 1 1/16" socket and turn the torsion bolt clockwise on the front low side. Keep adjusting until you get the same measurement from the top of fender opening to the (level) concrete. It will correct all to within ~1/4".

Let me steal Doc''s post from another forum:
The TSB # 070306001 June 1, 2007 about the rear shackle bolts having been tightened at the factory with the truck not level, then binding and not letting the rear suspension settle in. The real key to the TSB was to loosen the shackle bolts to allow the springs to move correctly.... the TSB says: "relax rear spring shackle/bushings".

If you fix it with the torsion bar adjustments you may want to get an alignment after the adjustment. I would say take it to the dealer next time you go and have them review this to see if it applies. If not, ask them to level it for you.

Thanks for the info alrock. Actually, mine was not leaning until after I raised the front about 1.5" and had it realigned. My mistake was probably installing the new longer Bilstein shocks after the alignment. I noticed after installing the shocks that it was off by ~3/4". To correct it, I actually lowered the driver''s side torsion bar about 1.5 turns on the bolt 180 degrees at a time until it was all level. I figured it was better for the camber if I lowered rather than raised, plus I do want the front slightly lower than the rear so it sits level with my boat hooked up. It sits very level and rides very true, so I''m comfortable about the alignment at this point.
