What could be a better combination?..An American Ultimate off/on roader, with a twist of pure German engineering...Perfect!

i think they could add some British electronics, those were always fun. a little -12volt action always stirs things up.

I suppose you are like me and not interested in those new fangled technology gismos. I don't even own a cell phone. Paper maps, broadcast radio and telephones plugged into the wall have never let anyone down, and still work as good today as they did 50 years ago, if not better.

Then why are you on the INTERNET?!?!?! Better yet...why do you own a Hummer...hell the truck comes with the gismos you dislike already loaded into it!
BTW.... isn't it time for your warm milk and pudding...nap time is coming soon.

Wow, that was harsh! I'm only 31, so gimme a break on the warm milk and pudding, and I just woke up from my nap.
I don't dislike the gismos, I just think they should be used as a secondary system, not a primary system. I gave up my cell phone 3 years ago because I was tired of paying $150 every month for service and extra minutes. Suprisingly, I don't miss it at all, and I enjoy the personal freedom of not having somebody call me when I really don't want to be bothered. The saved cash is nice too. GPS is great until your batteries die, you loose RAIM, or your data base expires, but with a map the only thing you have to worry about is it getting destroyed beyond legibility. Even without a magnetic compass you can still get by with just a map. Technology is great, but I don't see the dying need that everyone thinks it is. If you grab hold of the new stuff and forget the old stuff, then you are up a creek when the batteries fail.

While I don't agree with you I was only joking in my first reply. I am the opposite of you, I embrace technology. There are pros and cons to gps, cell phones, all "New" things...same as there are pros and cons for the "old reliables".

I'm not upset. I know you were fooling around. The members of this site are good people, and it's nice to be able to joke without someone taking offense.

Recently escaped California and now thanking God to be in North Carolina. Had an H2 and sold it about 1 year ago and looking to get an H3 (more practical for daily use).
