Gunner_45 -> H3 Cargo Caddy (5/5/2007 11:07:58 PM)

I think I might try this cargo management box.

At $269.99 it's a little more in my price range...As opposed to the Amstar and Husky box for $750 bucks.

Price is certainly more reasonable.  Does it have a lock on it?

Just double checked the measurements...........

$%@^&$%#$!!$$%  ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Son of A ………………..[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]

The d@mn thing is about 3.5 inches too deep.

Deck measurements are fine,

However, when measuring a foot off the deck, between
the rear seat back and inside of the (closed) hatch, you get 29 inches.

Even with the rubber mat and carpet removed, you only gain another inch of clearance.

Damn….that is both disappointing and embarrassing.

Man…that really brings the suck.

That does stink.  It would probably destroy the top load integrity if you were to shave off the top edge along the seatbacks in order to make it fit.

Is this where I suggest hacksaw and liquid nails and a good helping of frustration, a side of explatives, and a little sprinkle of hope??  LOL!  All joking aside Gunner, that sucks bro!

Well, at least I hadn't ordered the stupid thing. I had been following some box builds on a couple of other forums
and started looking for a pre-fab'ed unit. This one was the most reasonable. Hell, I'd even found them as low
as $199 and $37.00 shipping......

I just liked the clean look of the thing and the fact that I could keep all the heavy crap out of
the side and rear door compartments.

Just for grins, I sent the manufacturer an e-mail to see if they would be offering it in any different sizes.

Waiting on a response.

May have to go the build your own route.......

I was going to suggest that as well .. a sheet of .75" MDF is dirt cheap and you can get matching carpet to wrap it in for a cheap penny too ... A couple of drawer rails to allow it to slide well and you're set .. I doubt you would pust through the $100 dollar mark ... hmmm .. I may have to make one of these now since I carry a bunch of crap around in the back all the time  :-)
