has anyone removed the door handles? I want to take mine off and trade with a friend, my chrome ones for his black ones.

yes...they're pretty easy to remove..one bolt on the inside of the door - just don't drop it in the door, then you'll have to open up the door panel...you have to give the main handle part a bit of a pound after the 'nub' is off...but its not so scary after the first one.

The bolt you are talking about is the one that takes the smaller part of the door handle off ? how about the metal rod that opens the door? does it just pop off?

No need to remove the door panel to pull the door handles off, assuming your doing what I did - I took off my black door handles and put on chrome. Remove that one bolt and pull directly backward, it will take a little force but they came off. When I picked up the chrome handles from the dealer they came with instructions in the box.

Yea, just take the nub off.  Then, if you're looking at the driver's side door from the outside at the handle minus the nub...just kinda whack the left side directly to the right and it will come loose.  Sorry for the lack of technical terms - that's not my bag by any means.

Thanks for this info.  I am switching out the handles tomorrow with another member and wanted to come prepared, so I went out and tried these instructions and it worked great.  I bet we can switch all 10 handles out in 20 minutes.

I also found some info on-line that helped me figure out how to get the mirror caps off without taking the door panel off.  I'll try to get some pictures of all of this tomorrow.
