I won't say it either, but I'll add in my crossed fingers as well.   My hope is that you were dealing with a true knucklehead before and not someone representing GM policy.  I am sure that we all have "challenged" people where we work-it is just a shame when they are in a position to negatively impact their own company, and theyu are so "challenged" that they don't recognize it!  Please keep us posted-I am sure that no one is bored from the updates! Hopefully this will be the end of you feeling like you are....

Thanks Joe!   I wish that were the case, however I was passed around to 4 different people and treated the same across the board...so it wasn't just one knucklehead. Moral to this story is (altho the outcome remains to be seen yet) -stick with your dealer if you need something!

Im with you Law, I am sure u dont know me but those older members who have been around here for a while probably remember the problems I had with my H3 and all the BS the dealers put me through.  I finally called a lemon law lawyer and sued them morons at GM.  I got some money and extended warranty but still am very dissatisfied.  They still have no fixed all as I wanted on my car and I will not even take the car back as they only cause more damage every time is at the dealer.
As you I will never buy another GM ever again, even before buying this H3 I always said i wont buy American..... now I definitely will not

Thanks Raffi...Sorry to hear all that you have had to endure with yours...With exception to head replacement and a couple of noises, mine seems to be OK.  I guess for me, the "jury will remain out" until I see that warranty in my hand and how my H3 fairs over the next couple years.

Something to think about and to maybe throw at them to rattle some cages and sound all savvy with jargon..
If they promised you a warranty in an e-mail, email IS a legally binding document say the courts.
If they told you over the phone you do not get one, that IS NOT a legally binding document.  Unless its recorded but if thats the case, when you picked up the phone they would have to say "this phone call is being recorded" because it is illegal to record a phone call without your knowledge.  Unless its a "threat to national security", then the government can force the phone company to hand over call records (god bless the patriot act...)
So according to the law, the last promise you had from them was an extended warranty and the phone call means jack squat.
Sounds like you get it to me.

Here is where we are at at this point...after banging out some rather scathing emails and sending to everyone I could think of...apparently they made it to the "top."  I immediately had numerous phonecalls from several different people. I was told I would be getting the extended warranty (by several various "chain of command" if you will) and that it would take approx. 6-8 weeks to receive the paperwork. (Not sure why it takes 6-8 weeks to fill out some paperwork and send it to me).  I am in waiting mode at this point, but I do believe GM will make this right this time....

This last promise was telephonically and I have been informed that all of my calls have been recorded for several months now.  Coincidentally they started informing me they were being recorded right after I first made mention of "my attorney." My Service Director did follow that up with an email tho .  So, I do have 2 docs with written promises - actually 3 if you count the original letter.

And yes Ghost, you are very correct...In my profession, I deal with contracts all the time and the bottom line is - if it ISN'T in writing...it isn't a binding agreement and most likely will not hold up in court.

Thats good news!! Its sad that you almost have to take a year of law school just to keep the man at bay now-a-days.  Things just go a little smoother when we all play by the rules though.

Ahhhhh...the latest is:  about 4 weeks ago, I received a letter from GM (looked more like a copy of an original letter and was not on the same stationary as the initial letter I had) stating that I would receive an extended warranty and it's parameters.  I was told I would receive the paperwork on the extended warranty in 6-8 weeks.  It is now 6 weeks and I still have not received any paperwork. I had my H3 in the dealer last week for 3 days (for that rattle that it came back with from head replacement - this is the 2nd time in for that now - it of course came back with the rattle and worse than it was before I took it in, so still not fixed after 2 trips in), I also had the service guy check the computer and of course there is nothing on there with regard to any extended warranty.  The Service Director's comment was "it is out of our hands and with corporate now - nothing we can do."  I will be patient and wait another couple weeks (since I was told 6-8 weeks) and then if I still have not received anything, I will begin rattling cages again.  If nothing else, I will bother them until I become the biggest PITA they have ever seen, not to mention the fact that I now have a larger file full of emails and letters informing me that I will get this extended warranty.

I am kind of confused on the extended warranty thing.......GM sent me a extended warranty packet stating after the 12,000 miles I will not be eligible. I thought extended warrantys are after the 5 year 100,000 miles up. Can someone help me with the verbage of this. Is our vehicles not covered after 12,000 miles??? Most dealerships have bumper to bumper for 3 years???
