The recent VW products have turned out to be some of the best built cars on the road....I thing that little number fits Rhonda's style very well

Just my .02, if that's what the GF wants, that's what she should get.  Never owned a VW myself, but people I know who have them really like them.

I know nothing about the safety side of the car - it's really cute though!

i have never owned one but i was told when you need to add fluids you have to use VW oils ect. or you will have trouble other than that have never heard nothing bad about them i would check out some VW forums that will give you the info you are looking for.

I checked it out at the Chicago Auto Show. They did a demo of the retractable hard top. Pretty nice. Still had some trunk space even with the top down. It's a pretty cool car. The people I know that own newer VW's are very happy with them. Having a convertible around is a good thing, even if it is hers. I say go for it!

The EOS has been launched here about one year ago.
The finishing is close to perfect ( the ''CARAT'' version) but the car is heavy so go for the bigger engine ( here, it's the V6) since the 2.0l is not powerful enough.
When the roof is down the car tend to have a poor road handling since the chassis is not rigid enough.
I don't know about the specs in the US but here the TIPTRONIC option is a wonder.
All in all you should go for it
