Fortune writer call for death of Buick, Pontiac, HUMMER, GMC, and Saab
 
Now that GM is officially Number Two, many Monday morning quarterbacks are popping up to "help" the general right the ship. Count Alex Taylor III, Fortune's senior writer, among them. In an interesting article, Taylor outlines reasons why GM should cut loose the anchors of Buick, Pontiac, HUMMER, GMC and Saab in order to move forward and prosper. Reckoning that GM is too bloated with brands and capacity that were fine 50 years ago, Fortune says it's time to move on.

They are blowing this #2 position way out of preportion imo. Taking out Hummer? thats preposterous.

That just goes to show you that just because someone says they are smart doesn't mean they are!

It's a FACT that the Hummer line are the most profitable vehicles GM sells, and they are selling very well at that, so why in the hell would they discontinue them or sell the brand off?

Maybe, but I thought that it was also biased to say that the Hummer had no redeemming qualities.  I've grown quite fond of my H3.
