Horrible gas mileage? Talk to Impy about his mpg and you'll feel better :-) My H2 gets about that, a little less, 12-12.5 mpg :-) I looked at trading in my -03 H2 for an -06 H3 but I felt it was too much of a step down after having been spoiled with the Deuce :-) Wouldn't mind having one though, but would probably want to wait until the Alpha's come out ...

ORIGINAL: rickey I am dissapointed in my new 07 H3.1. It gets horrible mpg.-13 mpg. 2. It is a rough ride.3. It has no power. 4. It barely runs when I have 3 to 4 passengers. I just feel that I made a bad decision when I purchased the H3. I guess that is what you get when you buy a vehicle with a 5 cylinder. I do like some things about the H3. The H3 is a very good looking ride. It is very manuverable. It is fun to drive when you are alone or only one passeneger and for offroading it is great. I only have 2000mi. on the H3 and I want to get rid of it. I had a 2004 F-150 FX4 crew cab before the H3 and I loved it. It had awsome power and it got better gas mpg that the H3 gets. I guess I am stuck with it for a while. There is DEFINITELY something wrong. You should not be having any power issues, especially when people are in the H3. Take it in immediately for service.

Do you think it's a prelude to an upcoming head issue Mike??? I thought they tend to start with a loss of power and then missfires on multiple cyl's right?

If I new what I know about the H3's at this point in time I definately would not have bought one. This forum has been a great help to me and others with all the good infromation. With all the head problems, power issues and mpg issues that the H3's have,I really want to get rid of it. I wish I would found this board before I purchased the H3. I will never buy another 4 or 5 cyl again. Only V8's for me in the future. Thanks all for your help!

I agree with Dennis, sell the damn thing and find something else to bitch about. I've had four people in my 07 H3x with no problem, my millage runs about 15 to 17+ with about 4500 miles logged so far. If I was looking for MPG or a cushy ride the last vehicle I would buy would be any SUV, period. Why the hell didn't you test drive the H3 first.

Wow! I live in Colorado and have no power problems when driving in the mountains with other people in the vehicle. I mean it's no Corvette or anything, but it gets the job done. As for gas mileage, I have been getting around 16.5 to 17 since it was new. (I have 4700 miles on it now). As for the rough ride, what did you expect...it's made to go 4-wheeling...if you wanted a luxury SUV you should probably trade it in for one. Ironically, when my H3 was in the shop for some minor warranty work they gave me a Cadillac CTS to drive. I actually thought the ride was worse in the Caddi couldn't wait to get my H3 back. Oh well...good luck with whatever you do.

Actually my wife has a CTS and it is a nice ride! Yes, my new Hummer has not yet been built, but I made sure to test drive it a similar vehicle like I planned to drive it. No, I didn't off-road with it, but I do know what to expect. I have had pickups and an SUV for the last 19 years, and none of them have ridden as smoothly as my wife's CTS, but they road smooth enough for me. I also read this board quite a bit before I decided to move forward with my purchase as there is nothing like user feedback. So like Dennis said, sell the damn thing, but save yourself some money Rickey. Buy a bicycle. There is only one potential head problem with a bike...............

Thanks everyone for your postive and helpful responses. By the way Dennis, I will bitch if I feel the need. You think you are the master authority on this board. I did check out the H3 before I bought it and there were no problems. The loss of power seems to be a head problem according to the dealer. Yes, if I were looking for mpg I would not have bought the H3 but 13mpg is unexceptable. When I get the problem taken care of, maybe the mpg will improve. So, if I want to be disappointed in my purchase and bitch I will. I bet if you Dennis had a similar problem with your H3 you would not be very happy either.

Now now children... let's play nice ... there are buckets and shovels for everyone! There has certainly been enough head issues to go around from what I've read ... I guess Den's point here is, it's no point in b!tching about it .. you have what you have, make the best of it. I think everyone is a bit sick of these problems and don't want to have to relive them every single day in one b!tchy post after another by various folks who have had their 3's in for it ...
