Folks:  I am sure that many of you have seen this information in the past, so I am posting for the unitiated. Just an FYI, here is a link to the Technical Service Bulletins.

http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/tsb/

My understanding was that these were sort of like a "soft recall".  Basically if the customer had an issue aligned to one of the TSBs issued for their vehicle and brought it to the attention of the service department, it should be covered similar to recall work (in other words, you don't pay for it).  I have dealt with dealers that were proactive on these (I didn't need to ask and they even told me about the TSB) and some dealers who would claim that they had no knowledge of these bulletins.

If anybody has a better understanding of how these work, please let us know!

Cheers!

Joe
