They are called "check straps". My drivers door went bad with only 1800 miles. Dealer replaced with no problem. If you have a bad one, no amount of lube will silence it for long.

the door closers are tight, if you notice they dont swing swiftly like other cars,

the pic is the squared exhaust pipe we were talking about earlier in the thread. right where it the passenger side tortion bar is. Mine looks alot worst than that. Sorry, forgot to take a picture of it.
