Considering you'd have to use a cattle prod just to get me to go in .. you're probably correct! :-)  In fact, I will openly admit I don't have the brass to do that job on a daily basis .. as far as saving ones life goes I think some people try to rise to the occation in events like that.  I've chased a few people down trying and succeeding in dumping them out before they hit the ground but it's not a very smart thing to do ... unwritten rule states there are no freefall friends below 2,000 feet.  I've been down way lower than that when newb's muck up real bad .. I've been a newb too and it almost cost me my life on one jump ... I guess since I got as lucky as I did I tend to chase more than I should ...

I wouldn't mind jumping once, but I told my wife, many years ago that with my line of work I was going to put an end to risky hobbies/recreation.

My cousin did a tandem jump (or whatever the exact term is) and realy enjoyed it. His buddy did it too, but got knocked out when the chute opened, and basically missed everything after that.

My cousin touched down first and had time to see his friend "out" and made it a point, to laugh and point..

Bwahahahaha ... yep, that's a newb for ya .. seen enough pass out and more puke both in freefall as well as under canopy .. always good for a laugh or two!

And I too for the record have decided to put a stop to the risky hobbies ... lost too many close friends to me over the years and the last 2 that went sort of put things in perspective ... So if anyone is interested in a skydiving rig, by all means, PM ME LOL!

So....The size of your chute is inverse to the amount of cake you eat?...Just curious

Uh huh .. blame shorty Den .. very smoooooooothe!  LOL!
Smaller chute with more weight under it comes down faster and moves forward a whole hell of a lot faster.  When I initially bought the canopy I have now I was approx 20 lbs lighter than I am now ... I ended up wearing weights around my waste to increase the loading of the canopy to get the speed I was after ..
They estimated my impact speed at approx 35-40 mph when I ended up in the ICU back in -02 I think it was ... I haven't exactly gotten any slower on those landings over the years ... if that tells you anything :-)  And yes, I've had puddin' during that time too ... smartazz!!!! LOL!
