I have a h2 with the factory spare mounted outside.  What size drop of hitch do you use to clear the spare but still stay half way level?

Hi Gsmith,

The drop depends on your trailer hook-up, My H2 has the spare on the rear, I have a 2 inch drop reciver and a 18 Inch Extender hitch, that I bought thru- Northern tools........

This allows me to Hook up our 24ft Wellcraft Boat Trailer and still be able to swing the tire out of the way to open the Hatch, without having to Jack-Knife the Truck/Trailer........

I also installed Masterlock Stainless Bolt-Locks so no one steals the extender/reciver/ball.......

Also Installed two air springs in the Factory springs, for an-Addl. 1,000 lbs Load carrying of the boat.....

I love going down the Highway with the Boat on the Back, with the H2 you don't know your Pulling it, you have to look back to make sure its still there.........

Have A Great Day.............Rick

I did a 4 ich drop and it still looks like it would be a tight fit.  The extension may be the way to go.  Mine has the factory rear air bags.  I have not hooked up to it yet with the boat.  I have a 27 foot eliminator.

Hi Gsmith,

I wanted to get factory air bags, but at the time we bought out H2 they said it could only be installed at the factory.......I was going to have the air springs installed but the inserted air bags work just fine.....Mostly for Headlights at Night blinding others at low beam.............

I also Installed a Solar Drivelight on the Reciver, installed with 2 1/4 Hucks, this allows the light switch to flash/off/steady mode.......charges all day/ runs all night..........flashs Bright white LED lights from the sides of the reciver so no-one walks into it Including my-self...........(harborfreighttools.com) they are $15.00 each and are water-proof........can be seen 2 miles....been on my truck 3 years so far......

Buy the way Nice Boat, wish I had bought a Bigger center console/ like the 28 ft.......one with a tolit, sink, fridge for the wife......Porta-pottie don't cut-it.....in open waters........

Fresh and/or salt water Fishing.??

Rick........

As previously stated, it all depends upon the particular application, since many trailers are so different in their construction. On my H2, I have a 9.12" x 8" drop ball receiver mounted for my particular trailer which rides perfectly level, as well as allows the trailer's tongue assembly to clear the H2's rear-mounted spare; however, you'll discover that it'll always be based upon the particular application.

Hi Gsmith,

My Buddy has Factory air bags, when he puts his boat on the back of his H2 it self adjusts to the weight, so its a level ride as long as you have the tow package with the Air bags........

it makes a nice ride.........Rick
