Far be it from me to start any rumors but I did hear on the news yesterday that the current New York Int'l Auto Show is supposed to be displaying a new, smaller than the H3, Hummer. I distinctily heard the young lady say that but I wasn't watching the tube at the time. As I violently wirled my head around to see the tv, the broadcast was off onto another subject. I searched a little for some more news but couldn't find any. Anyone hear anything??? (I would be seriously interested in one if it's true)!

Isn't the H4 supposed to debut there?

I searched a little for some more news but couldn't find any. Anyone hear anything??? (I would be seriously interested in one if it's true)! There are three possibilities. A) The prototype of the H3T, which is the 2 seater pickup version of the H3, may be what they are going to debut. There has been alot of speculation as to the validity of it actually being produced, but as usual, Hummer and GM are tight-lipped about it. The last thing I read about it was that it was only a prototype for show purposes only and not going to be produced. B) The H3 SUT with the flat bed instead of the cargo area. I think Dilo or "Hummer Guy" posted some spy pics of it, but it was actually a tad longer then the H3, so that probably wouldn't be it. C) The ever-so-rumored H4 may be it. I have read in some of my car magazines about the rumored H4. Supposedly (and this is what I read) it was going to be more of a crossover vehicle, like the Murano or Nitro, but off-road capable, and going after the Jeep Liberty and Wrangler market. It's been rumored to look like a Wrangler and possibly be a 2-door, 4-seater smaller version of the H3. Who knows, but I know I have read alot of things in different magazines with these same speculations. When does the show start?

I'm guessing the newscaster mis-spoke and was talking about the H3 Alpha debut, which would be the "smaller then H2 Hummer"...BUT...I'd be pretty excited to see official (public? ) word on the H4...GM has enough new material at the show, I highly doubt they'd show a concept vehicle that they can get more news buzz later in the game...

Is the Freelander THAT bad? My wife likes those. I actually thought about getting her one at one point.

Dennis, Thinking back to 02, 03, etc., the whole LR quirk thing was just a mental game, wasn't it? Amazing how we rationalize and compensate when we want to. It's going to be interesting how the new LR2 fairs in its first year but I won't be the guinea pig for it. Add to that the many owners who are dissatisified with their dealerships and the arrogant/incompetent people in them and one can easily be turned off to LR. I guess they just shoot for the one big "first & only sale" and just not care if one continues to buy LR's or not; they just move onto the next "new" customer. Heckuva way to run a business. I haven't had my auto trans fluid changed yet as they wouldn't do it at my 33,000 mile check (according to my service contract) even though I had already prepaid it (see what I mean about arrogance?). Oh, they would have done it if I would have paid for it(again) but I'm not in the habit of paying twice for anything in life so no deal. I'm coming up on my 40,500 mile check (60k schedule service) soon, probably in July, and it will get changed then. That's clearly enough miles on that same fluid but it's way more than enough time on it, five and half years. I fear to think what it will look like when they drain it. The trans performs perfectly though so I have my fingers crossed that it will last till July. I just picked up a new "paper puncher" target pistol; a S&W Model 22A, two-tone, with interchangeable barrel configurations, etc. I just couldn't beat the sale price. Good old 10-day California waiting period. Used to be 15! And we have a "one handgun a month" law too! Can you imagine that! All those tax payer millions for an instant computer check system and we still have this archaic crap mainly due to California's own assault weapons ban law. Almost hard to believe this is America some times, isn't it??? Velcome to zee Peoples Republik of zee Kalifornia! As I've said many times before, if it wasn't for the weather, I'd............. I hope you get your new SA soon; I know you'll enjoy it! (Press 1 to hear this message in English)
