Ok this is almost too funny, but sad as well

I am on my way out to work this morining,  i come up to an intersection and at the last msecond this old guy in a civic hybrid just pulls out of the parking lot and cuts me off,  then stops about 3 car lengths away from the white line at the stop light, sort of jolts to a stop, well i was expecting him to drive like a normal person, so i pulled in close thinking he was going to slowly pull up to the white line,  oh no, then he starts slammimg the break , going 6" then slamming again, I am like " what the f is this guy doing"  so then he gets out of the car , the guy is like 90 years old, walks back to my car, i roll down my window, he says, ok i am still laughing  " you likey bumper for some reason ?", i say, go back to your car, he says  "get the f away from my car you ignorant f "  i repeat , just go back to your car , and he just keeps swearing at me, and gets back into his car, then puts it in reverse, like he is going to slam into my H3,  yea that would have been real funny!!!   ,  then when the light turns green,, he shot like a bat out of hell, down the street, !    wtf ?????

it take all kinds,, sort of wish he would have backed into me,   sure i wouldnt have noticed, but his car would have been trashed

Funny you mention a Civic Hybrid.....I was on my way to work leaving my residential area (speed limt 50kph), when this Young B!TCH comes whipping past me doing at least 80kph in her White Civic Hybrid. Bear in mind, this is around 3:30 and there are school kids EVERYWHERE!!!

So I yell for her to SLOW THE FU(K DOWN, and of course she FLIPS ME OFF!!! Then we end up at the dual turn lane onto the HWY. She WON'T MAKE EYE CONTACT  Me on the inside, her on the outside lanes. Light goes green and she turns into the inside lane. Luckily I figured she didn't know how to drive and saw this coming otherwise she TOTALLY would have side swipped The Princess!!

CIVIC HYBRID = IDIOTS

I'm very pro-conservation and even somewhat open to discussions about global warming.  So are all the other outdoor sports oriented people that I've met over the years.  Basically, I just want to leave this world in better shape, for my children, when I leave it.

However,  I can't stomach twits that spout global warming and yet they still drive cars!   Next time some idiot gives you lip, just ask them why there're not taking a bus. riding a bicycle, or just walking like the people who really believe in global warming do.  Then thank them for helping to set such a good example and proving that it's all BS.

Well put NJTEX and that is the same for me..

One word for these Eco-freaks that jump on these stinking liberal ban wagons because it's in Ed Asner, Al Gore Hollywood fashion..."HYPOCRITES"..Rarely will you meet an honest Liberal, that will be part of the solution rather than being part of the problem and points fingers at the Gov instead of themselves....Jesse Jackson, Michael Moore, etc comes to mind..Not to mention a certain blowheart, look at me, flaming liberal idiot, DCPLASTERER...

My friend, you have a very valid and intelligent point.

Buying a hybrid may help, but still contributes to the problem, therefore we may even have a valid reason to stereotype all hybrid owners that buy them JUST to save the environment "Hypocrits" but those that buy them to save on gas "completely insane" if they trade for one, considering how much you loose in the trade, how much you would actually save in gas, and how much more your car payments are, you actually may loose money moving to one.

I can explain for those less capable of comprehending my intense mathmetical formulas

Moral of this issue is .. if you don't like people getting pi$$ed off at you .. don't ride their rear bumper or pull up 5-6 inches away from them at a red light .. there's no excuses for this crap ... and quite frankly, if you had been rear ended you would've done the same to him ... Had I been infront of you and you rode my bumper I too would have had a little talking to you .. not in that fashion but you would've been spoken to.  I have a mother in law (who I dispise but besides the point) who was on the receiving end of one of these 20+ years ago and she is STILL having problems from it .. if that was me I would have pursued you until you had no more money left to take and then rung you out two more times for good measure.  No excuses doode, none!

Hey Nick, uh, you need to re-read the thread again buddy! I think you misunderstood it a little.  He never said he was riding the guys bumper.  He said the guy stopped 3 car lenghts away from the white line by the stop lights and stayed stopped in the middle of the lane, so branstone stopped right behind him thinking he was going to move up to the light.  The guy then kept jerking up and jerking up intentionally.  He never said he was moving when he was right up on him

You can't assume branstone was tailgaiting.  The guy was older, so he may not have judged distance well, and the fact that he cut branstone OFF in the parking lot only goes to tell you the guy was already a jerk-off driver.

You know what happens when you Assume

"well i was expecting him to drive like a normal person, so i pulled in close thinking.... "  Yeah, he did, according to his own words.  Not arguing the guy infront of him was acting like an a$$ .. but lets look at this logically .. WHY was he doing that .. simple case of action/reaction ... I don't care if the guy in front of me stops 10 car lengths shy of the white line ... I STILL maintain a distance sufficient to stop my truck if I get rear ended .. little common curtesy for the driver infront of you .. plus .. if you do get rear ended yourself .. you won't be at fault since you won't rear end the guy ahead of you.

You are correct my friend, but again, you are assuming branstone was right up on this guy's bumper.  He never said he was, he just he got close.  Close could be the normal distance between cars when stopped   He never said " I was 1 inch away from him "  He was stopped behind him like every other car, but wether or not he was 1 inch, 6 inches or 5 feet is unclear, so you are assuming a fact you don't quite know

Obviously by the reaction he received he was too close ... combined with his own comment .. yep .. you can say what you want here Mike, the circumstancial evidence presented makes a good case that he probably SHOULD have backed off because he was a bit too close initially ... the fact that he anticipated the gentleman infront of him to drive "normal" but stopped 3 lengths shy supports this theory ...
Again, not arguing the guy infront of him was a jerkoff or nothing cuz he was .. but I think he put himself in that situation with his own actions .. and lets face it ... I think we've all done this because we get frustrated with idiot drivers ... and I highly doubt his accounts for the incident are as objective as lets say a 3rd person who wasn't involved ... human nature my friend .. we only assume responsibility for our actions if we HAVE to .. we often chose NOT to because we can get away with it ... and before I get acused of calling anyone a liar .. I'm NOT .. simply saying what I may find warranted in my eyes may not be warranted in yours ... hence forth I don't feel like I should take responsibility for something I never thought was wrong in the first place ...

Your shot ... make it a good one :P

So, what you are saying, is you are assuming branstone was a little ticked off that this guy cut him off in the parking lot, and in turn tailgated him as a sort-of revenge for being cut off?  That theory I can buy, but who the hell knows.  I mean honestly, we have all done it, as well as myself, but I have never come across someone that has gotten that pissed off who would play stop and go games at the expense of wanting a H3 to rear end their Prius and taking the chance on it.  That guy obviously had a road rage problem.  I sure as hell would have never done that regardless of what kind of car I was driving, because I would not want someone to rear-end me.  So, if THAT's why you assumed that, I understand it, but you are assuming because of what happened that he did it as some subconcious revenge for being cut off.  Is that what you mean?

(we will settle this in the Hummer Pool at the Badlands.............. )

No, I think he simply did what most drivers do these days when they feel they deal with an idiot driver and someone reacted to it ... and rightfully so in my opinion.  The way he went about it was certainly wrong .. but I don't think it would've happened at all had B not pulled up close enough to trigger said reaction ... Both parties were in the wrong in my opinion .. one for doing it and the other for reacting to it in a fashion that could've been handled far better than it was.   But it is ALWAYS the trigger that causes the confrontation, there's ALWAYS a root cause for a reaction, and that my friend is the initial action ...
This of course falls short if you deal with an clinically insane person of some kind or another .. some of them folks don't need reasons .. but if we assume here that the guy in front wasn't one of these nutjobs .. then yeah ..
