She is pregnant, he had just saved her from

a fire in her house, rescuing her by carrying

her out of the house into her front yard,

while he continued to fight the fire.

When he finally got done putting the fire out,

he sat down to catch his breath and rest.

A photographer from the Charlotte , North Carolina newspaper, noticed her in the distance looking at the fireman.

He saw her walking straight toward the

fireman and wondered what she was going to do.

As he raised his camera, she came up to the

tired man who had saved her life and the lives

of her babies and kissed him just as the

photographer snapped this photograph.

Thanks Dennis

I've actually seen the pic & story before, but had forgotten it.

My first "grab" was a dog, in one of the first few house fires I went to. Unfortunatly, it didn't have the same result, despite our makeshift human-dog CPR efforts. Me and nother guy worked on it for a good while, but it became obvious it wasn't going to help.

Since then I've pulled people and animals out of fires, .. some happy endings, some not so happy  .. but I continue to push myself 100% to give them a fighting chance.

That story is pretty awsome though! I like that it shows that animals (dogs) have more going on iside thier brains, than just responding to a pat on the head and a bowl full of food.

I was 19 when I was a Volenteer Fireman...My first pick was a schnowser (SP) The dog bit me twice but I still got it out alive...The 2nd was a 3 year old girl...Not so lucky and we won't go there...good story Dennis...my hats off to the Fireman for that job was not for me and that is that...It takes a special person to do that stuff and I will be the first to admit my Fireman days lasted just under a year.
