Thank GOD for that, because I can't stand radio anymore. I can't wait for this to happen. I'll finally invest in the upgrade once it's done. I helped HummerMike install his system and I was impressed at how easy it integrates into the factory radio.

Ya wanna bet that they're gonna start offering programming packages like cable TV.. For $XX.xx you get these base channels... For an extra $XX.xx you get another 20 or 30.. And so on and so on...

And so on and so on... I'm with you on this, without competition they'll play the exact same game as cable TV. I read the transcript highlights from the merger hearing and was very disappointed that one of the reasons presented was "the larger subscriber base will make the merged company more attractive to advertisers". Here come the commercials and higher fees! If the two companies really just wanted to avoid bankrupcy, there are certainly plenty of legal ways that they could have worked together to share the cost of the content for example. Unfortunately, it's all about the cash baby!
