Anyone else check out the videos on the hummer website?  It'll be at the New York Auto Show in a week or so, but the intro to the video said "Coming in 2008"!  I was really hoping for a July/August intro!

Also, there's a whole lot more info on the Alpha here:

http://www.autoblog.com/2007/03/27/2008-hummer-h3-alpha-gets-v8-power-295-horses/

including the Press Release straight from GM (that I think wasn't supposed to be released for a few days)...

The Alpha's will have a 4 speed, unfortunately.  No word on manual (doubt it).  Also no word on Active Fuel Management or E85 capability in the press release.  Can't believe they'd leave that out, so I'm guessing it's not in there.  Rear axle ratio is down to a 4.10, which should make for decent gas mileage.  Claimed 0-60 in the press release is 8.0 seconds.

All '08's will have a new steering setup (hopefully the steering wheel won't jump when you're turning and hit a bump anymore) and side curtain airbags will be standard.  That's all I got on across-the-board changes, though (other than things we already know about like the new door panels).

Oh, almost forgot...  The press release said it would be available this summer rather than in 2008, as the video said...  Just a couple of months!

And to think that's without Cat-back dual exhaust, Cold air intake system and a PCM tune...

i wish they would put nice small diesel in there. that would make the ultimate SUV.
5 or 6spd Manual with a 3.5L diesel and it would rock.... Ill probably grab this V8 if it has the Fuel management system that drops 4cyl on the highway and a 5spd.... No autos for me :)
