Possibly, but do you want to be the guinea pig? Hummer says the vehicle isn't designed for E85. That doesn't mean that the computer just isn't programmed for it or that it's only lacking the appropriate sensors. There are probably a whole host of other material compatibility issues as well. Fuel line and seal material just for starters. Wanna void a warranty?? Not me on this one. Besides, what nobody tells you is that because of the lower heat output of the alcohol vs gaoline, your fuel mileage will suffer too. We have enough worries with that as it is with gas being expensive these days. Not sure of the prices on E85 out there as I haven't seen it available here in FL, but I'd bet it isn't cheaper. So after all the money spent buying the necessary pieces and in most cases having to pay someone to install it, what will you get? Or more importantly will you even save anything? The jury is still out, but I'm not playing on this one. We can save some foreign oil, but I'd think long and hard before trying this. Of course it's just my opinion. But.....

Well, as I read deeper, I realized they aren't available for Throttle Body systems yet, only carbs, BUT they claim the R&D is going on for it right now. As you guys said, I doubt this would be easy, because the PCM would have to be programmed for a higher octane. According to what I found, E85 is 105 octane! That's pretty damn high.

Here in Dallas, E85 is usually a dollar cheaper than regular. I figured the 85 stood for 85 octane...good to know it's really 105...that's some stable stuff.
