I go to Brown's Camp in the Tillamook State Forrest in Oregon, because it is close, and it is an off road park. (I live in Vancouver, WA) They have trails from hores trails to fully modified street legal jeep trails. I also go up on Mt St. Helens on the forest access roads. For both places I got a map from the Dept of Foresty, and the USGS. I needed to buy a permit for the Oregon State park, but no permit is needed for the US Forest parks, unless you are camping. You could hit Mt St. Helens from where you live, or you can go over to the Olympic Mountain range, or Mt Rainier and find similar trails. They aren't really difficult, but they aren't maintained either, so mother nature can make them somewhat difficult in places. Overall, though, they are great to introduce you to the activity and let you learn what you and your vehicle can do without getting in over your head. As for real parks like Brown's Camp that would be close to you, the best thing to do is hit the local off road parts stores in your area. They would be able to point you in the right direction, and could probably reccommend a good club to join so you have experienced guidance in your endeavors.
