I love them...... but they do tend to build up dirt and mud, or where it's cold, ice and slush. So if your not careful and drag your leg against them you'll be using a little spray & wash.

The nerf bars are easily detachable if you want to go off road.

After a visit from my family, I decided to get them. Just gives shorter people a good push up point.

Actually, I have them, but I would prefer to have a lower step, to make climbing in, easier. One where the step would be about 4 - 6 inces lower then they currently are. Does anyone know of such an item, and where I might be able to get it. When and if, I ever do, go off-roading, I can remove them, but for day to day use, I prefer comfort. I'm a short woman, but my 90 year old mother, who I take around, would find it easier to get in and out, with lower steps as well.

I hate the nerf bars and wish I could take them off, but my wife is 5'2" tall and uses them all the time. She actually carries around a broom stick to knoock the slush and salt off of the step before she gets out of the truck But it could be worse, I have to carry a two step folding ladder in my dodge for her to get in

I personally never used them but then I'm 6'3", when I switched to the rocker panel protectors I thoughtfully purchased the removable side steps for the Wife who is about a foot shorter than me. Well she used them for about a week and then perfected a technique of getting in and out reasonably gracefully without the steps, the full nerf bars were usefull for the guys at the carwash when drying off the roof but thats about it, useless in the sand - a real drag.

IMO..the H3 would look absolutely naked without them...I'm 6'3" and never stepped on them,  but I'm not the only one that gets in and out of the the truck either... there's that WWMBO!

Mr Pat, I 've heard mixed reviews about the RRs.  A lot of people said they had a hard time installing as the sliders didn't fit flush.  How was your experience?  Are they that much better than the factory's?

Hummerabia, OUCH!  And here I am contemplating 1/2 that amount.  Ha!

Thanks guys!

My wife wants nerf bars to help her getting in /out of the H3 and I can't question any purchase that is pre-approved by my wife...but do those with nerf bars really use them to step up into the vehicle? I was looking at other H3's with them and it doesn't seem like they would help that much - you still have to step up pretty high. I'm am getting the stainless one with black step pad, but want to make sure they work for the wife. Any thoughts?

Hahahhaha... I can't get into my H2 without them...hahahhahah...unless I take a running leap..hahahhahah, or use a ladder... they are definitly a plus

Big plus on getting in, and I agree with Dennis--the H3 just looks better with them. But you have to take them off before off-roading. I think I've seen some rocker protection bars with removable steps. I think that'll be a future upgrade for me.

I agree they do look good on and without them I would have to get a boost to get in.
