Remember Tim, when you see me rolling through the Burg, You can pull be over to shoot the breeze. But, please don't bust me for my windows.

You should start a rumor in the police station that Hummers are light sensitive and need the tint. That way we will all be safe.

BTW, when I got pulled over in any of my vehicles, the first thing I did was put down the windows and turned on the light.

I wont pull you over thats for sure.. but I will try to start that rumor and see what happens...I am thinking about getting my windows done but not sure of where a good place to get them done at....any suggestions??? Wait should I be saying that....maybe not...

You probably park in the red to drop off your laundry too.  There is an obvious reason for the tinted window law....how  would you like to have to walk up to a tinted car, not knowing if the driver or passenger is pointing a gun at you.....

With a Hummer you don't need to park in the red zone. Hell, I just drive right up on the sidewalk.

Just kidding.    My laundry has a drive-up window.

Something I noticed interesting when I was having mine tinited a while back..  The shop had a map of the US with each state labled as to the regulations...  I was kinda surprised that the passenger and rear side windows on the H3 aren't legal in quite a few states..  Tennessee included..   TN allows 20% on the rear and only 30% on all side windows...

Everyone always talks about this place in Apolo, I guess they do a good job. Should be up 66 north from you.

Question...........................When I was with a friend of mine in NC, he got pulled over for speeding.  His windows are tinted dark, say's it's leagel there.

Anywho, the first thing the cop did was tell us to put down the windows over his loud speaker. My friend said that is common when you get pulled over and if you can't or don't roll down the windows, they ask you to get out of the vehicle....................Instead of having to walk up to a car with tint, why isn't this approach used here?

Many DO use that approach (and while it may be policy some places - I suppose it is up to the individual to approach you however he chooses to tho.) I have even seen requests for one to "step out of the vehicle,"  which is not common practice nowadays with all the injuries/deaths that have occurred from oncoming traffic (which of course was responsible for the "Move Over" law).  As for why LEO don't use that approach instead of citing for the infraction (OR just NOT have that law period) - the state legislators make the laws - again it's an infraction of the law and some cops just like to write tickets to ALL for any/all infractions.) I have known a couple who would ticket their own grannies probably LOL) Are they d*ks?  Depends on how you view it - to them they are doing their job to the letter of the law..period - and those who break the law- get cited. To those who get ticketed..probably! LOL (I once got ticketed for doing 5 mph over the limit by one of those "ticket writers" - and hubby was his Sgt!

Did you get out of the ticket? or did you pay it and not take advantage of the privileges of marital wedlock that you could have leveraged in the bedroom..?

Actually Denny (we were not yet married yet but had dated a  long time and everyone knew me) - the cop called hubby (then BF) to tell him he had just written me (guess he thought better of it after he had done it and had time to think about it lol) Hubby said, "did she break the law and deserve it? If so - then the ticket stays!" (GEE, thanks babe)...he then called me and read me the riot act over it...he did discover much later on tho while going thru turned in ticket books that it had been voided and he did confront the officer over it.  Of course this was a very long time ago when things like this could be done LOL.

In FL the front side windows cannot be over 20%.  When I took my Hummer in to have the windows tinted, the little guy TRIED his darnedest to talk me into the darker windows! He was doing a car in front of me and said "see how good it will match and look!"  Maybe it was just because he thought I had a "cool ride" and he thought I should go that route?  I found this interesting tho as usually they will tell you it is not legal BUT they will do it if you tell them to.
