First off...great site, lots of helpful info that I used to learn about the H3 before I bought it.

to my question.... I am going to mount an all in one overhead screen and dvd player unit. Does anyone know where the metal crossbeams are under the headliner? I really don't feel like dropping the headliner to find them. I'm hopeing one runs from windshield to rear hatch in the center of the roof like most trucks do, but would like to make sure before I go cutting up the headliner on a leased truck.

Thanks for any help,

Mike

It be easier to get the dvd headrest easy hook up then you can remove them when the lease is up and sell them there great
and two pepole can either watch two differant movies or one can watch a movie and one listen to a cd.

very true, but a whole buttload more money! Plus I have something different planned for the headrests I took the dome light out and found the crossbars, actually they run left to right right where the headliner push tab things are. Thanks for the help, I'll post pics when I am done.

If your doing all this to a HUMMER, you should have went with one of these instead..Otherwise what's the point, are you travelling a lot with a back seat full of people all the time?

Actually, I had installed screens and a dvd player in my tahoe a few months back before trading it in on the h3. My 2 year old son got attached to watching Blues Clues or Dora while we are driving and now hates to drive in the h3. I am installing the screen and dvd mainly for him.....if you must know.

Ya know, in the last few days I have read ALOT of posts on here and thought all your posts were very informative and very useful, until now that is. I remember one post in particular where you were argueing about not mudding or off roading your h3 while another guy was argueing that lift and bigger tires are meant for mudding and off roading...remember that thread? You told him "to each his own"....I can say the same thing here Just cause hi-fi stuff might not be your cup "o" tea doesn't mean it won't interest others.

Alright, you win..That may have sounded sarcastic, and uncaring..Wasn't trying to be...Just meant in a my own smartassy way, that a car with all that fancy electronics may be better suited and pratical for an on-road vehicle, as it would get beat up off road..Then on the other hand, I should have looked at it as if you'll never take it off road and will have the kiddos in the back on your urban trips alot..Sorry about that.

Hey..Have you read any of my OFF TOPIC (Jokes Thread) too?..There are some real belly shakers there..Can't be serious all the time, or this place would get boring

no problem bro, guess I took it the wrong way. I actually off road quite a bit with my trucks and never had a problem with any of my electronics getting damaged. If it's installed right with heavy duty connections they should stand up pretty good. I had three screens, playstation2 a backup camera, dvd player and a few other things in my Tahoe and never had a problem. Heres a pic of my Tahoe from my last hunting trip.... hopefully with some mudders this h3 will be as good or better than my hoe was.
