Hello to all. Just purchased a new H3 for the wife and am interested in some accessories for it. Can anyone tell me what sort of finish is on the factory black round tube step bars for this vehicle. Was considering them, but the price is a bit steep compared to say a Westin set. Want the stainless material of course, but in black. Now Westin says theirs are powdercoated. Yeah, maybe, but I have a set on a Chevy Truck and it really just looks painted. A black crinkle finish would look better. Any suggestions?? Also does anyone have a maint. manual out for the '07 yet? Love doing all I can on my own, but this vehicle is a new one for me. Have worked on almost every sort of vehicle with an engine, so not hard, but nothing beats a good book with torque specs, etc. Thanks in advance.

Seriously, we traded her Trailblazer for it. I have a Chevy pickup that I drive every day. She rarely lets me near the driver's seat. My next one may be an H2 SUT or the H3 crew cab pickup I keep hearing about but only if they wise up and put some real horsepower in it.

The factory bars are not quite black but dark "Hummer" Grey instead.  The finish also has a slight texture to it, somewhat like a wrinkle finish.

I'm not sure if they're powder coated but we've had ours for exactly a year without any signs of wear, chipping or rusting.  Like you, "ours" is my wife's and she insisted on getting the side-steps.  If you get the factory parts, you won't be disappointed.

Ok, thanks for the reply. I may just go with the factory bars then as it sounds like it might match the trim better anyway. Can't wait 'til we pay this thing off as I think I want a Hummer for my next vehicle too. We'll see what they have out in a year or two.

Try www.popularlink.com  I purchased the black stepboards from them for my 07 H3 and they are great. I got the black ones to go with my black H3 and the look really great. It only takes a few minutes to install them and they only cost $150.
